5 Tech tips for Âé¶¹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Údents 

1- Your Âé¶¹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Account – Find your Âé¶¹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú username & password on the online application portal in the Next Steps tab, log into the portal with the personal email & password you applied with.

Include @stu.ca (ie. xxxxx@stu.ca) with username when logging into: 

 Do not include @stu.ca (ie. xxxxx) when logging into: 

  • Self-Service (css.stu.ca)*
    *not available between 12AM-4AM Atlantic time
  • Web Print ()  
  • HIL () 

2 - Your Âé¶¹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Account – Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) - Required for all student accounts. 

  • Your email will be fully activated 24 hours after registration.
  • Go to outlook.com, and sign in using your Âé¶¹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú email and password. Then you will be prompted to set up your MFA.
  • Microsoft Authenticator App (required)
  • Set up two or more methods to use with MFA. To add additional sign-in methods such as your phone number, which we highly recommend in case you get a new phone.
  • You can add a second method by signing into your Âé¶¹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Account at office.com then select - View Account > Security Info > Add Sign in Method.   

 

3- Your Âé¶¹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Account – Can’t Access your Account? 

  • Go to outlook.com, choose ‘Sign in’ then ‘Can’t access your account’ and follow the instructions. 
    You will receive a verification code via the alternate email address (or, in some cases, phone number) you provided when setting up your Âé¶¹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Account.  Follow the instructions in this email to complete the password reset. 

4 - Wi-Fi – “Eduroam” and “Âé¶¹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Residence” 

 

To connect a laptop or Apple device: 

  • Select “Eduroam” or “Âé¶¹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Residence” from the list of available Wi-Fi networks. 
  • Login using your Âé¶¹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú email and password. 

To connect an Android device, use these settings:

  • EAP Method: PEAP 
  • Identity: Enter Âé¶¹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú email  
  • CA Certificate: Do Not Validate 
  • Domain: stu.ca
  • Phase 2 authentication: Mschapv2
  • Anonymous identity: Leave it blank. 

Using a Gaming Console, Smart TV, or streaming device in residence? 

You can use this link to register your device with Eastlink! Remember to provide your Âé¶¹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú email on the form or it will not work!


 5- Printing on Campus 

  • To print go to (must be connected to Eduroam)
  • Black and white and colour printers are located in JDH 201.  
  • Additional computers and printers can be found in the Dr. Daniel O’Brien Study Hall in MMH and in the Rotunda in BMH.

ITS Information for NBCCD Students

NBCCD students living on campus can email helpdesk@stu.ca to request a guest Wi-Fi account. These credentials will work for both Eduroam and residence Wi-Fi. You will need to request new credentials each term.
